Cool cars. Cold beer. Hot chili.

Is there a guy whose heart does not beat a little faster at the thought of this winning combo? Angie Higgins, director of One Senior Place, thinks this trifecta will provide the perfect recipe for the organization’s upcoming “Men’s Day.”

“Luxury cars, cold beer and chili, oh my!” Higgins said. “Men can simply enjoy being one of the guys, no small talk required.”

Small talk is not part of the equation, and to make a good thing even better, this guy’s day out is free.

Sponsored by Rhodes Law, P.A., “Men’s Day” will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 5, at One Senior Place, 8085 Spyglass Hill Road, Viera.

The guys can start the fun without even entering the building, since the luxury car show will be held on the parking lot. The show, organized by Coastal Auto Rally & Show, encompasses both privately owned outstanding vehicles, as well as the new models from upscale car dealerships, including Porsche of Melbourne, Jaguar, Mercedes Benz of Melbourne and Jaguar, Land Rover and Lincoln of Melbourne.

After viewing the car show, attendees can enter the air conditioned building, where Intracoastal Brewing Company will serve tastings of their best brews . Chefs from senior living communities have agreed to pit their chili mastery into a cookoff where the winners are, ultimately, the guys who get to sample. Participating chefs are from Salterra at Melbourne, Zon Beachside, Chateau Madeleine, Palm Bay Memory Care and The Brennity.

In between the beer and the chili, golfers can practice their put for a chance to win a round of golf at Indian River Colony Club, compliments of Four Star Real estate. Door prizes will be plentiful, too.

“We’ve got a lot of fun packed into a few hours,” Higgins said.
