The Melbourne Community Orchestra will open their 30th performing season with a look back at their own rich musical history. The orchestra will deliver a concert of audience favorites when they feature 30 Years of Music at 7:30 PM on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, September 11 and 12 at the Melbourne Auditorium at 625 Hibiscus Boulevard, 32901. Admission is FREE, with no tickets required. The 30 Years of Music concerts promise to delight with selections from the Pirates of Penzance, Phantom of the Opera, Nabucco and Beethoven’s Symphony no. 5, in addition to the “Blue Danube Waltz” and the exciting “Ride of the Valkyries.” The audience will recognize many of the classical works on the concert from the early Looney Tune and Merry Melodies cartoons. The orchestra will be joined by the Cocoa High School Chorus, who will perform several numbers, including “For the Beauty of the Earth,” in advance of the students’ October trip to Carnegie Hall in New York City.  Doors open at 6:30 PM for best seating.
