Guys, how do you draw the line between sharing life updates and oversharing on social media like Snapchat or Instagram? I feel like I’m constantly caught between wanting to stay visible and protecting my privacy. Any tips on keeping things safe without disappearing from the feed entirely?

I’ve wrestled with that too—especially on apps that thrive on spontaneity like Snapchat. My approach: I turned off location sharing, scrubbed my friend list, and made private stories for close friends only. There’s a helpful guide that gets into practical safety settings, plus some psychological stuff about digital habits—it’s at https://www.ceotodaymagazine.com/2025/04/how-to-stay-safe-on-snapchat/ . Helped me find a middle ground between being active and staying safe.

The trickiest part is that social apps constantly evolve—so what feels private today might not be tomorrow. Worth keeping tabs on your settings regularly.

One of the most common (and dangerous) forms of oversharing is revealing your exact location in real time. Broadcasting where you are, especially when you’re alone or at home, can compromise your safety. If you want to share that cool café or vacation view, wait until after you’ve left.
