What exactly is One Senior Place?

One Senior Place is a fresh new concept arising from a simple but powerful idea... that seniors and their family caregivers should be able to find the information, advice, care and services they need all in one place.  From our beautiful 13,000 square foot building in the heart of the Viera medical district, One Senior Place offers under-one-roof access to a wide range of care, services and products just for seniors.  One Senior Place features a Senior Resource Library for exploring your options and a trained Elder Care Manager on-site to answer your questions.  And when you're ready, you'll appreciate the one-stop-shopping convenience afforded by our resident businesses.

Where is One Senior Place?

One Senior Place is conveniently located just off I-95 at Melbourne/Viera exit 191 in Brevard County, east of Orlando.  Map  Most of the businesses located at One Senior Place serve at least the following areas:

  • Tri-county Orlando area, including Orange, Seminole Osceola Counties
  • Florida's Space Coast, including all of Brevard County
  • Treasure Coast including Vero Beach and all of Indian River County

What is an Elder Care Manager?

An elder care manager is a health and human services professional such as a nurse or social worker with a specialized focus on issues related to aging and elder care.  At One Senior Place, our Elder Care Managers work with older adults and their families to create a plan of care that meets the needs of the elderly client.  An Elder Care Manager will meet with you to help you understand your loved one's needs and to learn what resources and options are available to meet those needs.  Learn More

How much does it cost to use One Senior Place? 

One Senior Place does not charge consumers.  The independent businesses and providers at One Senior Place set their own fees.  Some bill Medicare or Medicaid, and their costs to seniors, if any, are set by the government.  Charges for private pay services are set by the individual businesses within the constraints of a competitive marketplace.

What is free at One Senior Place?

Information - The Senior Resource Library at our Viera location is free and open to the public.  The website, an extension of the Library, is also free.  Our comprehensive One Senior Place Directory is available both in the library and on the website, and like virtually all of our resources, it may be viewed, downloaded or copied at no charge for personal use. 

Help and advice - All visitors to One Senior Place are encouraged to schedule a free initial consultation with a professional Elder Care Manager.  The Care Manager will discuss your situation with you, answer your questions, and offer insights, suggestions and referrals.  If extended care management is needed, you may choose to contract for services directly with the independent professional elder care management practice located at One Senior Place.  Those services are always optional.  The Care Manager will clearly explain all available services and associated costs. 

Events, activities and fun - Virtually all of the many events and activities at One Senior Place are free.

Where can I find out about all the events at One Senior Place?

It would be difficult for me to come to One Senior Place.  Can you help?

Yes. For those who are homebound, don't drive, or can't visit One Senior Place, there are several options.  You may contact us by phone or email or have a friend or family member visit on your behalf.  If necessary, an Elder Care Manager may be able to visit you at your home, hospital, or care facility.  Call for more information.

Can I live at One Senior Place?One Senior Place is not a residential facility.  However, we can help you explore your options.  Our "Senior Places" Living Options Showroom features information, literature and photographs from a number of area living facilities across a variety of categories, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Memory Care.  To see all area facilities, try searching our Directory.  General information on living options is available in our Senior Resource Library.
